And while many wrestle with these types of struggles, not everyone who needs support is able to access it or is comfortable seeking it. To make accessing behavioral health care easier and more convenient, your UC Blue & Gold HMO plan offers confidential services and programs via telehealth to help you and your family.

Why it matters: Mental health conditions are common, with more than one in five U.S. adults living with some sort of mental health struggle.¹ Young adults in particular are now more likely to experience symptoms of anxiety or depression, according to the latest federal data,² which finds that nearly half of Americans ages 18–24 have reported anxiety and depression symptoms in 2023. 

In addition to traditional in-person therapy, the UC Blue & Gold HMO gives you access to behavioral health care through telehealth so that all covered family members can receive the care they need when they need it.

How to access behavioral health care:

Your behavioral health care benefits are administered by MHN Services. MHN has a large network of providers who offer care in-person or through telehealth. MHN is available 24/7. Call (800) 663-9355 and say “yes” when offered help finding a provider with availability. 

MHN providers offer treatment for a variety of behavioral health needs, such as:

• Anxiety
• Depression
• Substance use
• Post-traumatic stress
• Eating disorders
