Omada Helps You Take Control of Prediabetes

Omada Helps You Take Control of Prediabetes

One in three Americans has prediabetes, but 80% of them don't know it.1 Could you be one of them?

Prediabetes is a serious health condition where blood sugar levels are higher than normal, but not high enough to be diagnosed as type 2 diabetes. Prediabetes also puts you at risk for heart disease and stroke. Often, there are no clear symptoms, and prediabetes can go undetected until serious health problems appear. But you can help take control of your health with Omada, a no-cost program that UC and Health Net have made available to you to help prevent diabetes.2

Why it matters: Prediabetes can be treated, and with help, diabetes can be prevented or delayed. Diabetes is not generally reversible, so a diabetes diagnosis likely means living with the condition for the rest of your life. But there's great news: Lifestyle changes can lower your risk of developing type 2 diabetes by more than half.1

What is Omada: Omada is a personalized, online program proven to help people develop healthy habits, and it supports those at risk of developing type 2 diabetes and other chronic conditions. The program — available at no cost to you — provides tools and support you need to help you lose weight, gain energy and take control of your health.

This benefit is provided through the UC Blue & Gold HMO.
