Open Enrollment is your opportunity to review your current medical plan and decide if it will continue to meet your needs for the upcoming year. Thinking about your future needs is especially important this year, as there will be changes beginning Jan. 1, 2025. Get the details about all the 2025 benefit changes and your monthly premiums on UCnet.
UC Blue & Gold HMO1 changes
Your copays for office visits. Copayments for office visits will change from $20 to $30 per visit.
Prescription drug copays. The table below shows a comparison of current and 2025 copays. This includes a new category for specialty drugs — certain medications used to treat complex and/or chronic conditions — with a maximum (a "cap") on your cost for these often very expensive drugs.

*90-day supply is available at CVS Caremark retail pharmacies, through CVS Caremark mail order, and at UC Health pharmacies.
New no-cost doula program
Doulas provide essential health education, advocacy and physical, emotional and nonclinical support for pregnant and postpartum individuals throughout their journey. This includes care before, during and after childbirth, as well as during challenging experiences like miscarriage or stillbirth. A doula can assist you in understanding your medical plan benefits, developing a personalized birth plan, offering lactation support, and connecting you to community-based resources.
Program services include:
- One initial visit, plus up to eight additional prenatal and/or postpartum visits.
- Support during labor and delivery, including miscarriages and terminations.
- Up to two extended three-hour postpartum visits after the end of a pregnancy.
All services can be provided in person, virtually or in combination of the two.
